The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) stands as the premier constitutional body entrusted with the responsibility of recruiting India’s finest civil servants. It is the beacon of opportunity for countless aspirants who dream of serving the nation with integrity, dedication and vision. Born out of the Government of India Act of 1935, the roots of UPSC stretch back to the British era, but post-independence, it has evolved into a symbol of fairness, transparency and excellence in recruiting dedicated civil servants for the benefit of the Nation.
For many young Indians, cracking the UPSC exam is the pinnacle of ambition. It is a dream fuelled by the desire to contribute meaningfully to society, to be part of the machinery that transforms lives and upholds democratic values. Keeping in view the growing aspirations of the young graduates towards achieving decent scores in the UPSC examinations, the Literary Club - Adhyayan hosted a seminar in collaboration with AKS Academy on 21st November, 2025, dedicated to demystifying the UPSC journey.
The seminar aimed to provide a comprehensive roadmap, inspiring aspirants to chart their course of action towards success in civil services examinations. The seminar elucidated the various civil services available through UPSC—IAS, IPS, IFS, IRS and many others—each with unique roles and responsibilities. The speaker, Mr Mithun, emphasised on the interests of students to choose the right stream. He offered a detailed blueprint for UPSC preparation, highlighting the importance of goal setting, strategic planning and disciplined study routines. He stressed that success demands knowledge, mental fortitude and adaptability. The seminar helped the ambitious students to plan their preparation in a disciplined and strategic manner.
