International Mother Language Day Celebrations

Mother language is bridge in expressing emotions, knowledge and heritage. It nurtures cognitive development, cultural pride and social connection, playing a key role in preserving diversity and empowering individuals within their communities. International Mother Language Day celebrated on February 21st, holds immense significance as it celebrates the diversity and richness of all the languages in the world. The day is dedicated to recognize the importance of mother tongues and safeguarding the rich variety of languages across the globe.

To recognize and safeguard the multitude of languages and the cultural heritage, the Cultural Club Aroop organized an Essay writing competition on 21st February on the topic "Managing a Multilingual Workforce in a Globalized Business Environment” among MBA students.Their writings navigated the urgent need to protect endangered languages and promote multilingualism to ensure that future generations inherit this invaluable legacy. They highlighted the role of language in shaping societies and empowering individuals, emphasizing how language connects communities and preserves history. They also mentioned their personal experiences and examples, of how language access can break barriers and amplify marginalized voices, ultimately promoting social justice and community strength.

Students also reflected on many historical segments that highlight the evolution and significance of languages in human civilization. Around 130 students, participated in the competition, reinforcing the importance of ensuring that voices of all the communities are heard and valued worldwide.
